We want your Genlighten profile to look good! And how can you make that happen? One way is to upload a compelling header image of the correct size–an image that is 2400 pixels wide and 480 pixels tall.
If you have photo editing software like Photoshop, you’ll find it’s pretty easy. Just create a new 2400 x 480 blank file, paste your header photo in, and drag and/or resize it to fit. When you’re happy with how it looks, save and upload.
One caution, though. The original photo has to be at least 2400 pixels wide. Trying to stretch an photo that is smaller will result in a fuzzy, pixelated image that just won’t work.
If you have a business logo that you’d like to use (we’re okay with that as long as it doesn’t include a URL, email address, or telephone number), you’ll likely have to get creative as it probably won’t crop to the right size. Try superimposing it over another background photo which will fill the space.
What if you don’t have a photo to use? We’ve got things covered. Just go to depositphotos.com, select an image, and let us know the ID number. We’ll download it for you, create some sample header images of the right size, and forward them to you so you can choose which one you like best.
Need some ideas? Below are just a few examples of what current Genlighten providers have done.
If you don’t have the tools to create the image yourself, just email firstname.lastname@example.org and I will happily help. It’s one of the really fun things I get to do when I’m wearing my Genlighten Support hat. 🙂
P.S. One more thing while we’re talking about header images–and this is really important–please make sure to create the file from a photo that you have the rights to publish online. Using a copyrighted photo without permission could be a very costly (and very stressful) mistake.
